Before moving on please review the NEW SERVICE
NHS PHARMACY FIRST
details below as you may be able to access advice and treatment without the need for a GP appointment.
The NHS have introduced a new service which will be available in your local pharmacy from 31st January 2024. They will be able to offer advice to patients and supply NHS medicines where clinically appropriate (including some prescription-only medicines), to treat 7 common health conditions
These conditions include:
Infected insect bites
Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (in women aged between 16 & 64)
If you are suffering with any of the above symptoms you can visit your local pharmacy for an assessment, advice and treatment if it is deemed necessary without the need to wait for a GP appointment.
You can also still use the pharmacy for self care and advice regarding minor ailments
